How do the One Hour One-to-One Surgeries work ?

These hour sessions are helpful when you want to explore a specific question, with no obligation to hire me for any more work afterwards. They work well when the questions are about fundraising or communications good practice.  For example:

  • Two branches of my organisation want to start capital appeals at the same time.  What do we need to consider?
  • We have raised 80% of our capital appeal.  When should we start the work?
  • We have a potential major donor. My chair wants me to ask them for £100K now. I'm not sure that's the best approach, what should I do?


Whereas questions which are very specific to your organisation like "What income stream should we focus on next? " would be best answered through a Big Picture audit. 


What are you like to work with?

Good working relationships are important to me. I am empathetic, reflective and a team player.  I'm also creative and strategic. If that sounds a bit worthy it's not meant to be.  I am also irreverent and fun to work with.


The most moving and authentic moments I’ve had in fundraising have been in face-to-face meetings. It has been a privilege to share stories.


The most challenging was visiting Ukraine in summer 2022


The most fun was booking an Elvis Lookalike!

What documents would we need to sign?

I would sent you a contract and if you don't have your own, a Code of Conduct and a None Disclosure Agreement.
